Wash & care

plus

To keep this product beautiful for many years, we recommend to always follow the care label instructions. Avoid fabric softener, optical brightener and bleaching agents. We recommend DAMAWASH, our specially developed detergent, that besides washing also protects and restores the colours. Avoid soaking – treat difficult stains with stain removal before washing. Always follow the instructions on the stain removal. Coloured products must be washed separately the first 2-3 times.

Do you need additional advice?

Below you will find some good advice how to wash and care for your damask products in the best possible way:

  • Tablecloths, bed linen and sheets should not spin speed at more than maximum 800 r.p.m. because it is easier on the products.

  • Hand washing is not gentler than machine washing. Therefore machine wash is preferable unless the washing symbols specify otherwise. The pre-wash programme can be used.

  • Use detergents without bleach or optical white to protect the colour of the damask product. Preferably use DAMAVASK, which can be purchased on our website or in one of our shops.

  • Always dose as specified on the packaging. Using too much detergent can result in allergies and skin problems.

  • Maintain the absorbing quality of terry cloth towels, tea towels and kitchen towels by washing without fabric softener. Fabric softener can also dull the bright colours of the damask products. If you nonetheless prefer to use softener, follow the dosing instructions on the packaging.

  • Wash white/light-coloured products separately.

  • Do not wash terry towels, socks, etc. with damask tablecloths and bed linen.

  • Do not overfill the machine. This may result in permanent creases, which are impossible to iron out and the product may develop worn folds.

  • Tumble drying causes unnecessary wear to damask tablecloths and bed linen.

  • Never tumble dry wool.

  • Always treat stains before washing. Follow the instructions on the stain remover and always test it in an inconspicuous place. See our site for further stain removal suggestions.

  • Do not wash at low temperatures the first two times to avoid colour runs. The colour is stabilised at the specified temperature and the product can be washed at a lower temperature afterwards.

  • Stretch the product gently after washing and let damask tablecloths and bed linen dry naturally if possible.
